Cooperation Networks

Aiming to encourage the internationalization, UFOP has been part of the following cooperation networks:

 

Brazilian Association for International Education (Associação Brasileira de Educação Internacional - FAUBAI)

 

 

FAUBAI – Brazilian Association for International Education was created in 1988 and it gathers managers and people responsible for international affairs from over 200 Brazilian higher education institutions.

The association works for the expansion of the internationalization of the Brazilian higher education institutions, promoting the Brazilian education system abroad and the professional training of its associates.

International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (Grupo de Cooperação Internacional de Universidades Brasileiras - GCUB)

 

 

The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) is a non-profit, academic, scientific and cultural association of civil society. It was founded on October 29, 2008, in Brasília – Federal District, under the name of Grupo Coimbra de Universidades Brasileiras. It currently comprises 89 Brazilian Universities. 

 

The GCUB mission is to promote academic, scientific and cultural relations among its member institutions and international partners, through the implementation of programs, projects and actions of international, bilateral and multilateral cooperation. 

 

UFOP has been part of GCUB since its creation and has been participating in various programs that enable the incoming of international students, such as the Bolsas Brasil PAEC OEA-GCUB Brazil Program, ProAfri (Training Program for Higher Education Teachers in African Countries), and PROLAC (Higher Education Teacher Training Program for Latin America and the Caribbean). Furthermore, through GCUB, the UFOP academic community has access to international mobility programs, culture and language courses, as well as discounts in proficiency tests and access to various events promoted by the Group.

Through Cervantes Institute, responsible for disseminating and  teaching the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, GCUB provides monthly a range of benefits concerning the study of Spanish language to the UFOP academic community. The benefits are: Free placement test; Free library virtual payment booklet; 25% discount on all courses (all courses are virtual and offered by Cervantes Institute from Brasília); 25% discount on the proficiency exam of the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) (Spanish as Foreign Language Certificate) (all Cervantes Institute from Brazil apply the discount of 25%). The benefits are valid for all the undergraduate and graduate regular students, and for all faculty members and administrative and technical staff from the University. In order to access them, the form available here must be filled in.

 

 

The 15% discount on the TOEFL iBT English language proficiency exam corresponds to another discount provided monthly through GCUB. This one, in partnership with the Educational Testing Service (ETS), is offered for all faculty members, students, technical staff, and researchers from the University.

 

Rede Uniminas

 

 

Rede Uniminas aims to promote the internationalization of Minas Gerais higher education and is composed of representatives from the international affairs bureaus of the participating institutions.

 

Rede Uniminas is formed by 15 Minas Gerais higher education institutions:

Association of Portuguese Language Universities (Associação das Universidades de Língua Portuguesa - AULP)

 

 

Association of Portuguese Language Universities (AULP) is an international NGO that promotes the cooperation and information exchange among Universities and Higher Education Institutes. The Association is composed of over 130 members from the eight Portuguese-speaking countries – Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Saint Thomas and Prince, East Timor – and Macao (Macao Special Administrative Region). AULP mission is to simplify the communication among the members on behalf of the teaching and Portuguese language collective development around the world by encouraging the research and the mobility of students and faculty members, and the idea of continuous reflection through the daily dissemination of news and the organization of conferences and events.
